Wood block printing is the main focus of the collaboration between Ales and Alana and the technique that sparked our name Ditto Grain – it is a simile for the work we present, the wood grain anew in purpose, representation and perception. Each wood block is printed in a limited edition. Once the decided number of prints is created, the wood block is damaged so that no further prints can be made. Alana creates all the designs and Ales does carving and printing. We would not be able to do this without each other.
